Fuchsia flowers delight with their pendulous blooms that dangle decoratively from arching branches. Will do best in a position where they are sheltered from harsh wind, harsh sun and harsh frost. Water well in summer and cut back when flowering is finished.

An interesting little shrub that hails from China and will remind you of Wisteria when in full flower. The foliage is made up of glossy green leaflets, spikes of pretty pink flowers appear in summer. Quite easy to grow in sun or part shade and well drained soil. Deciduous.

In colder climates this sub-shrub may die right back to the ground in winter but it will re-shoot from the base again in spring.

A hardy shrub known for it powerful fragrance in Spring. The showy white flowers have a purple centre and are pineapple scented. Green leaves. Likes to be planted in a sheltered position in the garden but is very tolerant to the cold and poor soils. Best to prune out old wood in Winter. Deciduous.

This 19th century French hybrid is still rated a top shrub today. Fresh green foliage and virginal white semi-double blossoms with a delicious heady fragrance. Easy to grow in a sunny spot. Prune after flowering within a few centimetres of the old wood. Deciduous.

A deciduous shrub with brilliant golden leaves turning a light, bright, yellow-green in summer. In autumn it becomes a fluorescent display of Autumn tones. White flower clusters are showy, followed by reddish-pink seed heads that linger long at the ends of branches.

Happy in full sun or part shade and is not soil fussy.

Woody shrub producing gorgeous burgundy/mahogany foliage in the spring and which retains its colour throughout the summer. Leaves are borne on red stems and the undersides are a contrasting olive green. Flowers are pom pom heads of small cream florets. A great contrast plant which is not fussy and low maintenance. Deciduous.
